Updating older 1970 s paneled home
I bet I have something in the garage of my new-to-me older home that most homeowners can’t claim they have in theirs. As I was trying to create a more welcoming entry to the house from the garage. I am trying to turn that around by painting all the brown paneling and wood in the house, with white paint.
I didn’t realize the room had it until I started to take photos in the corner of the garage last week for this post on how to paint wood paneling. So far I have painted my studioffice and now this corner of the garage.
The listing says, “Impeccable, bright contemporary with dramatic lines, soaring ceilings, and newer systems. Every detail addressed with full remodel from top to bottom.”“Exquisite details include a wooded cabana, wide plank white oak floors, reclaimed wood kitchen island, new flagstone patio, custom iron stair railings, wood plank ceiling in dining room, and a master bedroom courtyard with outdoor shower.”Lauren says she may miss her outdoor shower most of all!
Her book Thanks to Lauren for letting me share her home makeover with you.
This technique allows you to keep the woodgrain texture of walls, but not the deep color.
I'm sure people thought I was crazy to take on the renovation of an older home.
This light pink wall features floral patterns (thanks to some serious stencil work) that help distract attention away from the panel's lines.
